Naked Apartments
When two Harvard grads decided to overturn the current - some would say broken - model for renting an apartment in New York, they turned to Gabriel Friedman Design for help.
In cooperation with a team of talented developers, we architected and designed the site and corporate identity, and provided all HTML/CSS work. We maintain an ongoing relationship as Designer/Art Director.
After launching in August, 2009, nakedapartments.com has garnered significant interest from local media, as well as its target audience of apartment renters and real estate brokers and landlords. With hundreds of renters and thousands of listings now on the site, it's well on its way to its stated goal: improving the experience of renting an apartment.

SHARE Cancer Support
SHARE is New York-based support group for women who have or have had cancer. Their hotlines help thousands of callers each year, and their ongoing workshops support both cancer survivors and their families.
Their website, however, wasn't doing a very good job for them; a static, page-driven site built several years ago, it had failed to keep up with the needs of the SHARE staff and the far-flung group of volunteers who staff the hotlines.
In cooperation with the Fund for the City of New York, Gabriel Friedman Design re-architected the site and the database used to track calls to the hotlines. Over the course of several months, we held a series of meetings with SHARE stakeholders and designed a database-driven site with workshop sign up forms, several blogs, and a simple administrative interface that allows the non-technical staff to easily update the content.
Now when they return from Albany after lobbying for research funds or speaking at a committee hearing, that information appears on the site within minutes.

Discovery Channel
Discovery Channel needed a fresh look for their online Education Store. With over 3,000 titles, they also needed a better way for teachers and educators to quickly find the products they needed.
In partnership with Resolution, Inc., Gabriel Friedman Design cataloged and re-organized the site employing a user-based approach to browsing and searching. We also re-engineered the typical "wishlist" functionality to allow educators to output their lists directly to a purchase order, thereby streamlining the purchase process.
The site launched in November, 2008 and has been given an A+ by the educators who use it!

Audible, Inc.
Following the purchase of Audible by Amazon, Gabriel Friedman Design was asked to help redesign critical pages of audible.com, including: home, category, product detail and search/search results.
The design needed to accommodate existing elements such as main navigation and overall frame, while reorganizing the content elements within the page body. It also needed to be flexible, as Audible was planning on widening the site in the near future.
After launching the new design, customer conversion rate has risen approximately 2%, a significant jump for ecommerce conversion.
